We would be honored to be YOUR family’s farm.
What drives us:
Stonesthrow Farm is continuing the tradition of naturally-raised, low-input farming in a new location in Chattaroy, WA.
We are passionate about restoring soil health by increasing the organic matter in it through techniques such as bale-feeding, rotational grazing, and composting.
We use modern techniques, such as soil testing and forage analysis, to give feedback on the slow process of improving soil health. Better soil health supports healthier forage, which will in turn, lead to higher nutritional values in grass-based meat that our customers love.
Why “Stonesthrow”?
What exactly does “Stonesthrow” mean to us?
A "stonesthrow" means a very short distance, essentially the distance a stone could be thrown; it's an idiom used to describe something as being very close by.
Two reasons: We are located about 20 minutes north of Spokane, WA, so just a “stonesthow” away from town. Also, though we strive to maintain high animal welfare/natural/organic practices as much as possible, we are not technically organic, again, so a “stonesthrow”.
